Featuring skateboard workshops for beginners, open sessions and an impressive photo exhibit with Munich’s renowned skateboard photographers, the “Skatebahnhof” (Skate Station) campaign for “Mein Einkaufsbahnhof” – an umbrella brand of train station based shops – offered visitors a distinctive, interactive and modern cultural/sporting experience which invited passers-by to stick around at Munich Central Station and even get involved.

An appropriate mix of programming added value for both, the Munich skate scene and for visitors less familiar with the culture who received an enjoyable insight into the creative world of skateboarding. By involving local stakeholders such as skateboarders, photographers, filmers, skate shops and the non-profit organization HIGH FIVE e.V, we created an authentic environment which, as well as generating two weeks’ worth of footage, allowed for ample content production and PR opportunities. This allowed the brand to simultaneously modernise its image among its existing client base as well as among some occasionally very critical target groups.

After its premiere in summer 2017, the Skatebahnhof took place again in January 2018 and March 2019 with an extended programme.
